November and December Student Winners
Winter Champions
DMHS was proud to announce the Students of the Month for November and December. Throughout this school year, teachers and students have been working extremely hard to show their best selves at school, and students from each grade level have been recognized for their efforts.
The selected students for November’s “Student of the Month” were freshman Janna Abdul Quicenoi, sophomore Judith Chicas, junior Dorian Boykins, and senior Christian Lee. The selected students for December’s “Student of the Month” were freshman Zackary Mitchell, sophomore Tahneisha Demand-Hewitt, junior Calista Walker, and senior Jerelle Daag.
“I felt surprised at first, when I received the news. There are so many intelligent and talented students in our school, so to be chosen as Student of the Month and recognized for my efforts was rewarding,” Judith said.
Each student received a small token of recognition and a designated spot on the bulletin board in school.
“I felt appreciated to be recognized by my teachers as a hardworking student,” senior winner Christian Lee said.
Students expressed their gratitude toward receiving the award and wished to encourage other students to strive to perform their very best in school.
“I feel as though students should do their best to always stay on top of their work, pay attention in class, and dedicate themselves to their classes and their work. Although the workload can be overwhelming at times, try to maintain a positive attitude and take time to do what needs to be done with effort,” Judith added.
Students and teachers are reminded to congratulate any of the “Students of the Month” if they see them in the halls. Anyone can be chosen as “Student of the Month.”
